Worthy is The LAMB!

As I was thinking about Christ’s sacrifice for me, what He has done on the cross, this song by Darlene Zschech came to my mind. Although I have known it for quite some time, I had never really meditated on it well. The lyrics has such a deep meaning that really brings us back to the foot of the cross.

Jesus Lamb of God!

“Thank you for the cross, Lord.
Thank you for the price you paid.
Bearing all my sin and shame, in love you came
And gave Amazing Grace.

Thank you for this love, Lord.
Thank you for the nail-pierced hands.
Wash me in Your cleansing flow, now all I know…
Your forgiveness and embrace.

Worthy is the Lamb
Seated on the throne.
We crown You now with many crowns
You reign victorious!
High and lifted up
Jesus, Son of God.
The darling of Heaven, crucified…
Worthy is the Lamb.”

I sometimes wonder how great the pain must have been for Him to carry the sins of the whole world, from beginning to end, but its way beyond my comprehension! The Son of God, pure and holy, to carry all the sins, shame and dirt of the whole world? Waw, if this is not love, I don’t know what is.

12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them….

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” ~John.13:12-17, 34-35~

I just don’t know what to say, but knowing that the Lamb who was lead “to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,” (Isaiah.53:7) is now seated at the right hand of the Father, I just echo the song “WORTHY IS THE LAMB!”

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” ~Revelation.5:12~

Snow for Easter?

Spring snow!

Almost all parts of the UK have been covered in snow for almost a week now. The heavy snow that fell during the weekend is still settling on the ground due to the cold weather. It is absolutely freezing, and you would never believe that we are actually in March going to April (supposed to be spring!)

As the Easter weekend approaches, in addition to the 1st question that pops in our head “global warming, or global freezing?” how are we to view this as Christians? The Bible says, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1Thess.5:18

It is so easy to complain and to really wish that we would get to enjoy the beauty of spring during Easter. Yet it is also good to see God in all things and seasons. As I was reading a blog earlier just before I was thinking of writing this blog, it summarized my idea really well, so I would encourage you to read it… http://sojournersgarden.wordpress.com/2013/03/27/let-it-snow-let-it-snow-let-it-snow/

Yes the white and pure snow covers the ground beneath, no matter how ugly or how beautiful it had been. So in this, the entire place looks beautiful without any difference. In the same way, when we are covered in Jesus’ blood, it is no longer about how good we are but all of us covered in Jesus’ righteousness appear equally pure before Him, for there is no partiality before God. Our ugly past is gone, we are now new creation in Christ.

I have also observed that when the roads are been cleared with salt and sand, the pure white snow is turned into muddy and dirty puddle. In the same way, we as Christians do mess up sometimes, but God’s grace is there to pick us up and fill us afresh again. Unlike the temporary snow that’s here today and melt tomorrow, God’s love never fails; and whenever we are tempted to go back to our old selves, His blood drops like the snow and purifies us.

22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.” – Lament.3:22-23

So this Easter as you look at every flake of snow that falls, think of the drops of blood Jesus shed for you and me and the whole world, and remember to thank Him for it, even with your frozen hands outstretched 🙂

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” – Isaiah.1:18

Engraved on the palms of His hands

There was a point in my life recently, where I struggled with my identity and what it meant for me to be a child of God, or who I am in Christ. I felt that I didn’t fit into these boxes that people naturally expect me to fit into. Then I decided to look into what God says about my identity as His child.

These passages of Scripture (above) are just awesome and they really opened my eyes to the Biblical truth of what my Heavenly Father thinks of me regardless of what the world thinks. And I found that I was being deceived, by the devil telling me all these lies about how I’m supposed to fit in to this world’s mould etc.

I realized that my identity lies in Christ and Christ alone, that I no longer had to live according to people’s expectations, but according to His perfect plan for me. And that gave me a sense of peace, and I was no longer burdened in trying to please people.

Usually we write things on our hands so we don’t forget them. In the same way, God says “you are engraved on the palm of My Hands.” How awesome is that? He would never forget us, but when He looks at His hands, He is constantly thinking of us. We are precious in His sight, “for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye”  (Zechariah.2:8)

So today, rest assured in the knowledge that God loves you and His plans for you are the best!

Have a blessed Sunday 🙂

It’s a NEW day!

22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for His compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
    great is Your faithfulness.” ~Lamentation.3:22-23~

How are you today? Did you wake up and feel like you are being dragged back by yesterday? Or did you wake up and got anxious about tomorrow? Or even what today has in store for you?

Well, the Bible says that His mercies are new every morning! Don’t let yesterday spoil today’s joy, or tomorrow’s worry stop you from living today to the full. God has given you today as a gift, make the most of it. Remember that you are being blessed with another day (others may not have had that chance), so live to make a difference today!

Why not start your day with God? Spend time with Him and receive His grace to give you the strength for the day.

“Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” ~Psalm.90:14~

Take it one day at a time, walking with God and depending on Him… “Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you;He will never let the righteous be shaken.” ~Psalm.55:22~

Have a glorious day 🙂

“6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – PHILIPPIANS.4:6-7

The Almighty GOD

Heaven & earth are His

This morning, I came across PSALM.104. It is a great passage!

At times, whether knowingly or without knowledge, we underestimate God’s power and limit Him to our own capacities. We say, “Can God really do this? It just seems hopeless, and I can’t see any way around it”. But this Psalm talks about how mighty God is, that He “…wraps Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of His upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds His chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.” (verses 2-3) Who are we to limit God to our own understanding and mould Him to our own logic? Can He not do the unexpected?

His word says in another passage – ISAIAH.55: 8-9

8“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways
and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Let us remember that we serve the Living and Everlasting God, He is almighty and omnipotent. There is none like Him. Let us not allow the devil, life situations, people or even our own thoughts tell us otherwise. We may not see it and yes it’s because we can’t see the future, but He can and what He had promised us is just around the corner and we will find it soon.

The song below fits in really well, with what I’m trying to say, listen to it and be blessed 🙂

“…You have seen the end from the beginning,

You have been before the world began

You have reached to me within my darkness

And in the light of mercy now I see…”

Great conversation with a friend

So today I got talking to a good friend, we had a great time of fellowship sharing God’s word.

Some of the things I learnt:

  • Life is never perfect, it has thorns and beautiful petals. What do you concentrate on? It is good to want good things and to want things to be perfect. But the truth is, life is not perfect and if we keep expecting things to be perfect, we just get disappointments. Be realistic.
  • Accept each moment as it comes and enjoy life as it is. Don’t stress out about the things that didn’t work out! Always give thanks to God for them.
  • God is outside of time, while we are limited with time, so we only see what’s present now; He’s seen your past, your present and your future and HE is planning the best for you!
  • When you go to bed, thank God for how your day has been, and just lay all your burdens on HIM and find rest.
  • When you ask God for something, if your hands are full with your worries, how are you supposed to accept anything from Him? Even if you try, you won’t hold it properly, it will eventually fall. But if you place your worries and cares on Him, then your hands are free to accept.
  • When you wake up in the morning, it’s a new day, start fresh, don’t let yesterday affect today. “His mercies are new every day”. 🙂

MANY BLESSINGS TO YOU W-M.G.B ❤

This song reminds us that when we come to God’s presence, we are to ‘be still and know that He is God. ~ {PSALM.46:10}

Also {HEBREWS.11:6} says “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

It doesn’t matter how life is going, just come before God and place your burden at His feet and find rest from all your troubles. The Bible says,

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” ~ {PSALM.16:11}

Be blessed 🙂
