Often we don’t realize our inabilities until our disabilities. For example, we use our hands automatically, we don’t think too much about the amount of things we perform with our hands/ fingers, and what we may not be able to do if we didn’t have them. We don’t often thank God for the small things, but we expect everything to work instantly. At times God slows the pace by putting a disability on our way. Eg when I get a paper cut and find it hard to wash dishes or write, then I realize the importance of my fingers and how unable I am to do things of my own power. I am totally dependent on the One who has the power over everything, big and small.
I once read the following message by a preacher from India called Br. Zac Poonen
“Can you see a single star when the sun is shining? No. When the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary becomes as bright as the sun in our minds, all our petty sacrifices will disappear like the stars in the daytime – and we won’t even call them “sacrifices” any more. If you can remember all your sacrifices, then you must be in the darkness still – for it is only at night that we can see the stars!!
Come in faith and humility and receive the righteousness of God that he offers you in Christ – and give Him all the glory for it, all the days of your life. Then you will never be a Pharisee.”
“7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” – Philippians.3:7-11
“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” – Romans.11:36
From the song ‘Here in Your presence’ by New Life Worship, the line that caught me was,
“All of my gains now fade away
Every crown no longer on display, here in Your presence”
Prayer for the day: LORD, though I am short sighted, I will put on the glasses of FAITH and choose to see through Your eyes. For You see the big picture and I entrust my life into Your loving arms!
Prayer for the day: Father, I thank You that my feelings and fears don’t change who You are.

Father of lights, giver of gifts
There is no shadow in You
Author of life, Fountain of grace
Each morning Your mercies are new
And You never change, and You never lie
Age to age You are the same
I will trust in You, all Your faithfulness
For I know You never change
Father of love, source of all good
Tower of strength and my shield
When You gave Your Son for those who rebelled
Your love for the world was revealed
Father of peace, help of the weak
Though mountains fall into the sea
Though tempests may rage, the sun hide its face
Your favor will rest upon me
I usually have a habit of looking back and reflecting on how my day had been. Well today as my friend and I are in a different country to work on a project it had been interesting how we are trying to fit in and adjust to the life style. We got lost TWICE.
The first one was in the morning and while walking we got confused. There was a man passing by and I had a feeling inside that I should go and ask for direction but I didn’t, I thought we can figure it out ourselves, if we could just read the map right! We ended up walking for more than 30mins the opposite direction. It was a good walk but not along the right path, so we had to go back and start to ask people to tell us the way. It was a humbling experience.
The second one, we got the bus back home, but we weren’t sure where we should get off the bus. at one point I felt that was the place we were supposed to drop off. The bus stopped at that point, and surprisingly for a bit longer than usual, however the uncertainty was still there and my friend insisted that w continue one more stop. I felt she was wrong to go another stop but we continued. And yes we should have stopped at the previous bus stop and had to walk one stop back again!
Often God speaks to us through that quite still voice in our hearts, but more often we are too busy to do things in our own way, and too doubting to believe.
May God help us to be better listeners as we learn to hear His voice and more importantly to have the faith to respond.
“11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” ~ 1 King.19:11-12
If tears could speak
And echo their voices
From the depth of my heart
To the presence of Your feet
When words can’t form in my lips
Then You will be my mouthpiece
When everything is going crazy
I know You are my peace
Father to You I run
Though I feel this is the end
I know You’ve just begun!
“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and His rule.” – Matthew.5:3 (The message)
