Help me find it

In preparation for the new-year if there is something that’s been ringing loud in my ears is the desire to seek God’s will for my life. And this song by sidewalk prophets speaks it really well.

“5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.” – Psalm.37:5-6

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” –  Corrie Ten Boom

Thankful for my mother

Today was my lovely mother’s birthday and I must say that with each year I am so thankful to God for blessing me with the most CARING mum I have ever seen. Her kindness and hard work always amazes me and the amount of stuff she sacrifices for  her children is just unbelievable. I once read an article about how a mothers love is the closest thing on earth to the way our Heavenly Father loves us.

Thank You LORD for my mum! May she continue to be a blessing for many more years and please continue to shine your face upon her. Amen!

As a run up to the new-year, I am just thanking GOD and praying for all the things He blessed me with this year. Starting from my loved ones: family and friends down to the little and basic (but important) things such as food and shelter.

Looking forward to what He has in store for all of us, He is always a faithful God and doesn’t change with seasons, that’s why I put my trust in Him.

Star of Bethelehem

He had known this all along

But tonight laying in a manger

Up in the sky was a displayed symbol

To remind Him of His purpose

He is the Saviour of the world

It stood clearer and brighter

Than all the stars of the night

Its shape resembled of the figure

On which one day He was to die

As His little head lay on the hay

Tears filled His pure, innocent eyes

For in the quietness of this silent night

He saw the horror of Golgotha’s cry

This same star brought three visitors

With myrrh, frankincense and gold

Reminding Him of His sacrificial death

His Priesthood as the Prince of Peace

And His Kingship as the God incarnate

For us He was born

Laying His majesty aside

He nailed our sins to the cross

By His blood He ransomed us

And made us children of God.

My Lord and my God- JESUS!

“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” – John.1:14

“13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having cancelled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” – Colossians.2:13-15

“9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.” – Matthew.2:9-11

Total dependence on God

The thought of depending on God seems to be mostly for the things that are out of our hands, things that we know we have no control over. However, it has recently been more clearer to me through various events happening in my life that I need God’s grace not just for the seemingly impossible, but also for the things I think I am capable of.

Most of the time we wake up and say, “today i will do this and i will do that”, yet how often do we realise that our life is not in our hands?

13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” – James.4:13-15

We need God’s grace from the minor to the major things in our lives. We need grace:

 – Not just to pass our exams , but we also need grace to get ourselves to work hard to pass those exams.

 – Not just to have food available for us, but we also need grace to have the ability, appetite and wellness to eat it.

 – Not just to do good things, but also to do them with the right attitude and mind.

 – Not just to love others, but to love them for who they are and not what they have done or haven’t done for us.

The list goes on for everything in our lives. I have learnt that no matter how big or how small, without God’s grace and strength, i can do nothing at all – even the air i breathe.

May God help us to completely surrender our lives to Him and look to Him as the source of everthing in our lives. Amen!

“For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.” – Romans.11:36

God’s will be done!

Life is quite tough when we don’t know what we should do next, where our next step should lie. I had been struggling with this issue, what  does God want me to do and where doe He want me to be? Its even harder when you see people around you who took the wrong decisions and you fear, not to make the same mistake. God’s will is the centre of a Christian’s life, because we know that anything apart from God’s will, crumble and fall. For only His will and His plans stand.

May the Lord give us ears to hear and eyes to see His will for our lives.

We will not go

“21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.” – Exodus 13:21-22

This summer, I came across this wonderful song (below) that taught me a lot about waiting on GOD. God was leading the Israelites to the land that flows with milk and honey. But they had to wait for His timing and His directions. At times it was tough because it looked like God was quite for a long time and had left them, in which case they went astray, but God was merciful to them and eventually brought them to the promised land.  Can we relate? (1 Corinthians.10:11)

God does make us promises, but we should let Him lead us to know how we should go about obtaining those promises. Can a human really mess with what is divinely purposed? We have to let God be God and let Him lead us with a ‘pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.’

“11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah.29:11

WE WILL NOT GO (Kelly Minter)

VERSE 1
Fire by night, cloud by day,
Our God will lead the way
Desert sand, or promised land,
Our God will lead the way.

PRE-CHORUS
Forever we will follow,
No matter what tomorrow holds.

We will not go, we will not move
We will not walk without your presence
We will wait for You.
The Great I AM, Almighty God
We are desperate for your presence,
Without You, we will not go.

VERSE 2
Troubled soul, when darkness comes,
Our God will lead the way
Joyful hearts, when blessings flow,
Our God will lead the way

BRIDGE
We will be still and know, we will be still and know,
We will be still and know that You are God.
