Inside of you…

I found this song that I used to listen to ages ago, and as I pondered upon it, I thought of how true the words are. So many lies are thrown at us “you can’t do this or that”, but we were made to shine! May God help us to be the people He made us to be. Amen!

As a child you used to dream
There wasn’t anything that you couldn’t do
Learn to fly on paper wings
But somebody told you dreams don’t come true
Some settle for a lie and take it
And try to keep their hearts from breakin’
But you defy the odds
And make it worth the going through

Oh, inside of you there’s a heart full of dreams
Like the gold in a stream to be uncovered
Inside of you lies a soul made to shine
Yes, a child meant to fly and discover
All the wonders God can do
Inside of you

Every day you face the fear
With a measure of faith that you need
And even now all heaven cheers
For the miracle you’re destined to be
True bravery is bought with sorrow
Life is but a gift we borrow
And all the promise of tomorrow waits to be revealed

Where dreams can still come true
All the wonders God can do
Inside of you

I don’t think I have ever looked forward to spring like this year before. And now that it has arrived, I am absolutely loving the re-birth, creation coming to life again after a dark, dormant winter. I’m loving the fact that I wake up to see the sun shining through my window.

There is something about spring that raises my fascination of God’s glory and majesty. Somehow it gives me a small taster of Genesis and just makes me feel like I just want to praise Him for who He is.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” – Ecclesiastes.3:11

prayer quote #8

So today I was thinking about what it means to hear God’s voice and the earplugs that prevent us from hearing His voice. I asked my flatmate, “What do you think are those ear plugs?” She replied, “Pride and impatience.” She is absolutely right!

When we think we know it all and have it all figured out, we stop asking God what He wants from us – we become self-sufficient. And when we are impatient, we think that God is not listening and fail to trust His timing and that way we take matters in our own hands the way Saul carried out the sacrifice (which was not his role) because ‘Samuel was late’.  (1Samuel.13:8-12)

May God grant us humility and patience, and the ears to hear His voice. Amen.
