We will not go

“21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.” – Exodus 13:21-22

This summer, I came across this wonderful song (below) that taught me a lot about waiting on GOD. God was leading the Israelites to the land that flows with milk and honey. But they had to wait for His timing and His directions. At times it was tough because it looked like God was quite for a long time and had left them, in which case they went astray, but God was merciful to them and eventually brought them to the promised land.  Can we relate? (1 Corinthians.10:11)

God does make us promises, but we should let Him lead us to know how we should go about obtaining those promises. Can a human really mess with what is divinely purposed? We have to let God be God and let Him lead us with a ‘pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.’

“11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah.29:11

WE WILL NOT GO (Kelly Minter)

VERSE 1
Fire by night, cloud by day,
Our God will lead the way
Desert sand, or promised land,
Our God will lead the way.

PRE-CHORUS
Forever we will follow,
No matter what tomorrow holds.

CHORUS
We will not go, we will not move
We will not walk without your presence
We will wait for You.
The Great I AM, Almighty God
We are desperate for your presence,
Without You, we will not go.

VERSE 2
Troubled soul, when darkness comes,
Our God will lead the way
Joyful hearts, when blessings flow,
Our God will lead the way

BRIDGE
We will be still and know, we will be still and know,
We will be still and know that You are God.
