We will not go

“21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.” – Exodus 13:21-22

This summer, I came across this wonderful song (below) that taught me a lot about waiting on GOD. God was leading the Israelites to the land that flows with milk and honey. But they had to wait for His timing and His directions. At times it was tough because it looked like God was quite for a long time and had left them, in which case they went astray, but God was merciful to them and eventually brought them to the promised land.  Can we relate? (1 Corinthians.10:11)

God does make us promises, but we should let Him lead us to know how we should go about obtaining those promises. Can a human really mess with what is divinely purposed? We have to let God be God and let Him lead us with a ‘pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.’

“11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah.29:11

WE WILL NOT GO (Kelly Minter)

Fire by night, cloud by day,
Our God will lead the way
Desert sand, or promised land,
Our God will lead the way.

Forever we will follow,
No matter what tomorrow holds.

We will not go, we will not move
We will not walk without your presence
We will wait for You.
The Great I AM, Almighty God
We are desperate for your presence,
Without You, we will not go.

Troubled soul, when darkness comes,
Our God will lead the way
Joyful hearts, when blessings flow,
Our God will lead the way

We will be still and know, we will be still and know,
We will be still and know that You are God.

Lighthouse- Philippa Hanna

Its amazing how God works and speaks in many ways. I have recently been getting anxious about my future, about what will happen in 2, 3 years time? I have been asking God, “but Lord, how will this happen? What am I going to do? What will it be like?” The truth is, it’s not for me to know, I just have to trust the God who knows, Omniscient God.

Just earlier, I spoke to a friend and she sent me this song- Lighthouse, by Philippa Hanna. Its one of the songs in her new album- Through the woods. I decided to read up the story behind the song, as it says,

Jesus- my Lighthouse!

“so I send signal flare into the sky

You see me there You shine Your light

I see the flicker and my heart awakens

like the beating of a drum

Out in the distance, on the horizon

Like the rising mid-night sun

And You paint the night the color of dawn

And I know I’ll make it home

I’ll be safe and sound upon the sand

With a washed up diamond in my hand….

It was very encouraging for me to know, that though I feel like lost in the middle of the sea of life, God has created this little tunnel for me, where He is showing me little by little with each step I take. Like a torch light basically. I just have to continue to trust Him.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” – Hebrew.11:1

In the mean time, I have to keep holding on to what He has promised me,

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah.29:11

My Rock & My Peace

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” – Romans.8:28

When things seemed to cripple and all hope was gone

When I felt weak & wondered if God actually heard me at all

Then He showed up in an amazing way

Way that I didn’t anticipate and brightened my day

How many times have I failed Him?

How many times have I lost faith?

Yet HE stayed by my side even in the darkness

He changed my situation with a flick of His fingers

Who can understand His ways?

Who can comprehend how He works?

His ways are higher than ours

And His thoughts deeper than our thoughts

To give us a future and a hope

Even though I cannot see what’s ahead I will trust Him

Because He has proved Himself faithful to those who wait for Him

His love will guide me and lead me in the right path

Though heaven and earth move His promises will last!
