“Did GOD really say…?”

Often we hear God’s voice and it is so clear, in the mean time we rejoice over it and we obey it, but as time goes by, the strength of the message somehow fades by the wind and the rain that batter it. Why? Because we failed to store it in a good place.

This is what the devil said to Eve, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”- (Genesis.3:1), which eventually resulted in Eve taking the wrong move. And even now the devil uses the same deception to trip us from what we know to be true, from what God had promised.

Abraham heard God’s promise so clearly that He who swore by His name will give Him a son- Issac through whom He would make him the father of nations. Yet that same voice, “Did God really say…” caused him to miss his step and doubt God’s promise, which resulted in Ishmael.

The Children of Israel saw God’s wondrous works in the Red-sea and they failed to trust Him in the desert. “Did God really say…HE will give you meat?… He will give you water or shelter?…”

And now how many times we doubt what He had promised us, what He has shown us. “May be I was just imagining things… “Of course with time we may start to forget or doubt because its our nature. But I want to encourage us to keep those jewels God has given us in our treasure boxes, so that when those moments of doubt come and the voice of the enemy whispers in our ears, we can run to those treasures and prove him wrong. We don’t have to spend hours trying to analyse if what he said was true or not.

So, let us not make any move without GOD, for “He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”- 1Thess.5:24 We don’t have to run after flying birds in the sky, He will provide the meat, He will provide the water, He will provide Manna.  Amen!

This song has been a real blessing to me today, and links very well with this post, so have a listen…
